WASHINGTON, W.Va. — At the end of the month, the benefits our retired miners worked their lives for could expire if Congress doesn’t act. For families across West Virginia, that would be nothing short of devastating.
I went to the House floor this week to urge my colleagues to protect these benefits and to stand up for our miners. I shared the story of a McDowell County father who worked his whole life to provide these benefits for his wife — you can watch that video below.
We cannot let the clock run out on our miners and their families. They kept up their end of the bargain — now it’s time for us to do the same.
