OAK HILL, W.Va. — The School Building Authority presented a two-high schools facilities plan to the Fayette Schools capital planning committee Thursday, one that was met with intense emotions and mixed responses
The plan will keep high schools at Midland Trail and Oak Hill while sending high-schoolers from outlying communities across county borders.
The School Building Authority (SBA) has spent the last six months asking attendance areas and the 54-member planning committee what they would like for their kids, from curriculum offerings to school size and bus times.
The plan was then developed to meet that criteria and to be financially viable without a bond.
“This plan was based on data. It was not based on emotions. This is what you can afford…
