New WV license plates feature brook trout, bluebird

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — West Virginia motorists now have two new wildlife license plates to put on their vehicles.

The plates, which became available July 1, feature the images of two of the state’s iconic wildlife species — the eastern bluebird, one of the state’s most popular birds; and the brook trout, one of the state’s most popular game fish.

The new tags are the fourth and fifth in a series that dates back to the late 1990s…
