Morgantown students join nationwide walkout against gun violence

MORGANTOWN, W.Va.  — Students at Morgantown High School and crosstown University High had 17 reasons for walking away from their desks March 14.

They wanted to honor the 17 students shot dead last month in Florida by a gunman who stormed the school.

The students here had the blessing of Morgantown High and University High administrators for the morning.

They were out for 17 minutes — one minute for each victim.
