Marshall to graduate first pharmacy school class

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Thomas E. Menighan, R. Ph., M.B.A., executive vice president and chief executive officer of the American Pharmacists Association, will give the commencement address at the inaugural Marshall University School of Pharmacy graduation scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, May 5, at the Keith-Albee Performing Arts Center in Huntington.

The first class of Marshall pharmacy students received their white coats in July 2012. Out of those 80 students, 76 are on track to graduate Thursday with their Doctor of Pharmacy degrees.

The mission of the Marshall University School of Pharmacy (MUSOP) is to advance direct pharmacy patient care by developing innovative practitioners, researchers, and educators. MUSOP conducts research and provides services directed toward the goal of improving the health and well-being of West Virginians, veterans, and residents in the Tri-State and the nation.
