HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Chili cooks from up and down the East Coast are set to compete in the 34th annual ChiliFest on Saturday, Sept. 9, in Huntington. The charity cook-off event benefits the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Tri-State.
ChiliFest, the West Virginia State Chili Championship sanctioned by the International Chili Society and sponsored by WSAZ, features chili verde, salsa and ICS red chili. Registration begins at 8 a.m. at Pullman Square.
Live entertainment is provided. Other activities include a hot pepper eating contest, beer drinking contest, shot ‘n holler contest and more.
The winner of the event qualifies to represent West Virginia at the ICS World’s Chili Championship.
