BECKLEY, W.Va. — Gas prices across West Virginia are that their highest in six months, mirroring a national trend.
Nationwide, the average gas price Wednesday was $2.22, while in West Virginia it was $2.29, according to AAA, an 8-cent increase in the last week and a 27-cent jump from a month ago.
Locally, the cheapest gas in Beckley Wednesday was $2.36 at the Sheetz on North Eisenhower Drive, Gasbuddy.com reported.
For Katrina Lawson of Beckley, the prices are still affordable. She pumped $27.84 worth of regular unleaded into her Honda SUV, but said gas prices are still within her budget.
