West Virginians: 1-844-WV Cares for Affordable Care Act Help

As Open Enrollment Approaches, New WV NaviCare Program Ready to Help West Virginians Enroll in Health Insurance

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – West Virginians interested in information and free, in- person help in learning how they might obtain health insurance under the provisions of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) will now have access to these services.

Any West Virginian who has questions about obtaining or enrolling in health insurance can get free assistance both over the phone and in-person by calling 1-844-WV Cares. The call line will be staffed by certified health insurance navigators and will be available to answer questions, assist with enrollments and schedule one-on-one appointments. WV NaviCare will also be hosting free events throughout the state where people can come get free assistance.

First Choice Services, working under a cooperative agreement with the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, has created the WV NaviCare program to assist the public as they sign up for health insurance through the Health Insurance Marketplace.

The Open Enrollment Period for 2016 starts on Nov. 1, 2015 and ends January 31, 2016. If you do not sign up during Open Enrollment then you may not be able to get coverage until 2017.
