The Register-Herald seeking multimedia reporter

BECKLEY, W.Va. — The Register-Herald, a 17,000-circulation daily newspaper in Beckley, W.Va., has an immediate opening for a multimedia reporter.

This position includes a wide range of coverage, including breaking news, enterprise, courts, government and features. The ideal candidate is self-starting with a strong work ethic. Candidates must possess strong reporting and writing skills and basic videography skills, have a working knowledge of open meetings and open records laws. We want an aggressive self-starter who will cultivate sources, pursue in-depth, enterprising content and distill complex issues into relatable copy.

Beckley is the business and medical hub of southern West Virginia. It is located near the New River Gorge, which offers all manner of outdoor adventures. Beckley is also just an hour’s drive west to the West Virginia’s capital of Charleston and Lewisburg to the east.
