CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — Last year when the West Virginia Secondary Schools Activities Commission, at the request of its member school principals, asked the state Board of Education to allow year-round athletic team practices, the board tabled the decision and asked for more study of the issue.
Now that the WVSSAC has come back with a proposal that has even weaker support (the proposal passed on a 54-53 vote of principals), the school board has put the idea out for public comment.
And we hope members of the public will express the same view by going to the state Board of Education’s website and commenting under the policy section.
