WV Tax Department closing some satellite offices

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The West Virginia State Tax Department has announced that their Logan satellite office will be closing next month in an effort to save money in the face of budget cuts. All affected employees will keep their jobs, according to Tax Commissioner Mark Matkovich.

The Satellite office in Logan, along with Satellite offices in Morgantown and Princeton, and the regional office in Huntington, will be closed effective Sept. 26. Employees were notified earlier Friday.

All five employees from the Huntington regional office and the lone employee from the Logan location have been reassigned to the agency’s Charleston offices. The lone employee from the Princeton location will now work from the regional office in Beckley and the lone employee from the Morgantown location will now work from the regional office in Clarksburg…
