PRINCETON, W.Va. — A Mercer County man who had been in line to serve as director of a drug rehabilitation center under development in Bluefield, was placed back on probation in Mercer County Circuit Court on Wednesday.
Jeffrey Allen Keatley, 47, of Mercer County, tested positive on Feb. 14, for oxymorphone, according to Mercer County Circuit Court Judge Omar Aboulhosn. The court clarified a previous admission that Keatley was using oxycontin, and stated that test results indicated that he had been suing oxymorphone.
“I was down here by myself,” he told the court. “I had a bunch of idle time on my hands. I apologize to the community. It was all coming to a head anyway. I knew it was over … I really did.”
Keatley’s defense counsel, Bill Huffman told the court that several people in the court had traveled from the Healing Place in Huntington in a show of support for the defendant. Keatley had been a model patient at the drug rehabilitation center in Huntington and was designated as the future director of the Four Seasons Recovery Center on Preston Street in Bluefield now under development…
