HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Earning the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America is no small feat.

Only 3 percent of young men who participate in the organization ever achieve the rank, according to Keith Rayburn, leader of Troop 63 at Dillon Chapel United Methodist Church, near the intersection of W.Va. 10 and Davis Creek Road.

Rayburn said he didn’t know what the odds were of having six Eagle Scouts, all brothers, come from one family during an Eagle Scout promotion ceremony for 17-year-old Jeremiah Parlock Sunday at the church, but based on those statistics and his personal experience, it was an impressive feat to say the least.
