FAIRMONT, W.Va. — The Times West Virginian has been honored by its parent company in an annual editorial contest.

Corridor Magazine, the Times West Virginian’s lifestyles magazine, has been named Community Newspaper Holdings Inc. Magazine of the Year. In addition, Misty Poe, the managing editor of the Times West Virginian, has been named CNHI’s Columnist of the Year.

Both awards are in Division 2.

The awards were announced Tuesday by the Times West Virginian’s parent company, CNHI, for its annual Best of CNHI editorial contest.

Launched in 2005, Corridor Magazine has been a finalist for Magazine of the Year in the past, most recently in 2014. This is the first time the magazine has been named Magazine of the Year.

Nicole Fields has been the editor of Corridor Magazine since 2014. Barbara Gaston is the magazine’s design editor.
