Elkins paper prepares for ‘Wild Wednesday’ edition

ELKINS, W.Va. — A staff of Santa’s elves will be on hand Wednesday at The Inter-Mountain, checking lists twice for the chief jolly old elf, bringing holiday joy and distributing some early Christmas gifts.

Sales of The Inter-Mountain’s Wild Wednesday edition — priced at $1.25 — will begin at 6:30 a.m. that day, and prizes will be awarded every half hour until the grand-prize drawing at 6 p.m. Prize bundles will include umbrellas, travel blankets, Randolph and Upshur county photos books and much, much more.

While patrons enter to win one of the many prizes, free cookies and coffee, as well as curb-side service, will be offered. WDNE FM and WELK will be broadcasting a live remote from noon until 6 p.m. during Wednesday’s festivities.

“We are very excited about our annual Wild Wednesday celebration,” said The Inter-Mountain Publisher and General Manager Heather Goodwin Henline. “This year’s newspaper will be stuffed with thousands of dollars in saving and will give our customers the opportunity to plan their Black Friday shopping excursions.”

The bundled prizes will contain a combination of items, including Inter-Mountain self-contained fleece travel blankets and Inter-Mountain umbrellas depicting cartoons from the comics section. Many other surprise promotional items will be part of this year’s prize packages.

The grand prize will be a family vacation package including motel accommodations of three days/two nights for up to five people (two adults and three children) at top chain motels, such as the Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt and many others, valid for up to one year and $500 cash.

Some of the possible vacation destinations include Orlando, Florida; Hilton Head Island, South Carolina; Mt Rushmore, South Dakota; and Buffalo (Niagara), New York, along with many more. Not only does this vacation package offer location destinations in 46 states and Washington, D.C., but it also has no restrictions on which dates are available.
