CHARLESTON, W.Va. — This year’s series of regional economic conferences by the West Virginia University Bureau of Business and Economic Research begins in Charleston Oct. 5.

WVU researchers say the Mountain State has several different economies with different characteristics and components. At the conferences, WVU researchers will present comprehensive economic data on each of those regional economies.

The conference schedule is:
  • West Virginia Economic Outlook Conference, Charleston, Oct. 5, Charleston Embassy Suites
  • New River Gorge Area Economic Outlook Conference, Beckley, Oct. 12, Tamarack
  • Wheeling Area Economic Outlook Conference, Wheeling, Oct. 18, Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino
  • North Central West Virginia Economic Outlook Conference, Fairmont, Nov. 8, West Virginia High Technology Foundation
  • Eastern Panhandle Economic Outlook Conference, Martinsburg, Nov. 15, Holiday Inn Martinsburg
“The Economic Outlook Conference series is our premier public event,” said BBER Director John Deskins. “Since 1994, the BBER has provided detailed and reliable forecasts for the national and state economies at these conferences to thousands of attendees. Business and community leaders from across West Virginia regularly attend our conferences to get an analysis of recent national and state trends and other economic issues of interest.”
