Earl Ray Tomblin is honored at the state Capitol on Jan. 12 with a plaque from the West Virginia Press Association. The WVPA recognized Tomblin’s efforts to improve public access and government transparency. WVPA Executive Director Don Smith made the presentation, noting Tomblin’s efforts to improve media access to government operations and his support of legislation limiting fees for Freedom of Information requests.
