WV PEIA Task Force to meet 2 p.m today

CHARLESTON, W.Va. —  West Virginia’s PEIA Task Force, established by Gov. Jim Justice to find long-term solutions for public employees health insurance, will hold its second meeting at 2 p.m., April 10, 2018, in the West Virginia Theater at the State Culture Center.

PEIA Director Ted Cheatham will give task force members a detailed presentation on PEIA to educate them on exactly what the Public Employees Insurance Agency is and how it functions. The meeting will be streamed on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube for those who wish to watch online.

The task force, chaired by Justice Administration Chief of Staff Mike Hall, held its first meeting March 13. Members of the group were organized into three subcommittees — public outreach, coverage and plan, and cost and revenue — to better divide the workload.

Gov. Justice emphasized the need to work quickly when he addressed the task force at its first meeting.

“I’m wanting you to find a solution,” Justice said. “I’m wanting it not to take forever.”
