BECKLEY, W.Va. — Almost 50 years old, an aging Shady Spring High School is set to come roaring back to prominence as officials broke ground on $22 million school improvement projects.
“They will have a facility that will support 21st Century education,” said Raleigh County Schools Superintendent David Price. “This will be a great opportunity for students and for teachers to deliver curriculum that is expected to be delivered.”
The existing Shady Spring High School will see the school getting 11 new classrooms, a new media center, a STEM center, all of the modular buildings on site will be eliminated, more parking will be added and a new gym will be erected. Security will be enhanced…
