Press Conference: ‘Make Cents WV’ event Thursday in Charleston

Education leaders to launch new ‘Make Cents WV’ partnership to tackle financial literacy 

 
What: The West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission and the Education Alliance will launch a new initiative, “Make Cents WV,” to provide financial literacy tools and resources to students, families and educators.

Details:
The event is open to the media and the public. Members of the media and other guests should check in at the registration desk.
 
The Make Cents WV partnership includes the Education Alliance, West Virginia GEAR UP (managed by the Commission), the West Virginia Community and Technical College System, the West Virginia State Treasurer’s Office, the West Virginia State Auditor’s Office, the West Virginia Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators, the West Virginia Bankers Association, and the West Virginia Department of Education. Mingo County Schools is serving as a pilot school for the effort. 
 
During the event, partners will unveil a new toolkit providing resources to students, families and educators.
