WHEELING, W.Va. — Lori Figurski, the former publisher of The Times Leader, has assumed a new role with the Ogden Newspapers as regional advertising director.

The announcement was made by Robert Nutting, the company’s president and CEO.

Figurski began her career as an advertising sales representative and later the advertising director of The Times Leader in Martins Ferry, before becoming advertising director of The Intelligencer and Wheeling News-Register in Wheeling.

She then became publisher of The Times Leader, a position she held for 10 years.

In her new role, Figurski will assist in sales training and the implementation of new advertising programs at the Ogden Newspapers’ daily and weekly newspapers, while overseeing the operation of the ADS Center, which is part of the company’s new advertising, design and strategic initiative located in Martins Ferry.

Figurski said she looks forward to broadening her responsibilities with the new posting while cementing her commitment and service to the company’s newspapers.

“I am enthusiastic about this new opportunity. I not only look forward to creating new marketing strategies for our clients that combine the strength and reach of our newspapers’ total footprint, but I am eager to be working with the many talented people we have on our newspaper advertising teams,” she said. “Our newspapers are committed to providing our communities with the most comprehensive coverage of any medium, and the reach we provide our advertising clients is unparalleled.”

Figurski, of Adena, assumed her new role earlier this year.
