WASHINGTON, D.C. – This week, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., will make several stops throughout West Virginia to meet with community and business leaders, local officials and discuss current issues that are important to West Virginians.
Manchin will make stops in Kanawha, Mercer, and Upshur counties.
“I have always been a true believer in the philosophy of retail government and meeting with West Virginians throughout the state serve as an invaluable opportunity for me to hear firsthand their thoughts, concerns, and suggestions,” Sen. Manchin said. “I look forward to hearing from community leaders and focusing on supporting West Virginia’s continued economic development. This fair in Bluefield will serve as an invaluable opportunity to connect our hardworking citizens with employers.”
On Wednesday, Sen. Manchin will co-host the Southern West Virginia Spring Employment, Recruitment and Resource Fair in Bluefield. The free event will be co-hosted with WVVA and Bluefield State College. Nearly 100 government and private sector employers have signed up for the event. The Office of Personnel Management, a federal agency that oversees the hiring process for federal jobs, will be on site to give a one-hour seminar on “How to Find and Apply for Federal Jobs.”
