“It’s West Virginia’s time to really shine,” said Dr. Jill Justice, co-chair of the Inaugural Committee. “West Virginia has the talent and the opportunities to thrive; the Governor-elect will make sure we play to every single one of our strengths. No one will work harder than my dad for the people and to make our state number one.”

Jim Justice believes it’s West Virginia’s time to go on a jobs rocket ride and write the next chapter of West Virginia’s future. Governor-elect Justice asked West Virginians to elect him Governor because he recognizes that the time is ripe for West Virginia to become a premier location for innovation and job creation. As Governor, Jim Justice aims to transform West Virginia into a world leader in tourism, energy, agriculture, and other industries.
The inaugural theme emphasizes the state’s potential and Justice’s boundless faith in the ability of West Virginians to achieve greatness. As a lifelong West Virginian and a renowned business leader in his home state and at the national level, Governor-elect Justice brings to office a unique perspective on how to elevate West Virginia to new heights.
As he promised in his campaign, Governor-elect Justice will use his business expertise and roster of contacts to turbocharge West Virginia’s economy. He believes that the Mountain State must play to its strengths: four spectacular seasons, a prime location within 600 miles of two-thirds of the U.S. population, a bounty of natural resources, and its biggest blessing — the people of West Virginia.
Governor-elect Justice will take the oath of office on January 16, 2017, at 1 p.m., on the Kanawha River side of the West Virginia State Capitol. His inaugural ball will be held at the iconic Greenbrier resort later that evening, beginning at 7:30 p.m. More information about the inaugural festivities will be released shortly.
