Jackson’s Mill Jubilee kicks off Labor Day Weekend

JACKSON’S MILL, W.Va. — A Central West Virginia family tradition is once again ready to welcome visitors when the 41st Annual Jackson’s Mill Jubilee kicks off, this Labor Day Weekend.

The all-volunteer board of directors, has issued the following release:

The Jubilee will continue a celebration of Appalachian Heritage at Jackson’s Mill West Virginia. Located just North of Weston off State Route 19, this festive occasion takes place on the beautiful rolling farmland of Lewis County, which was once home to Confederate Civil War General Stonewall Jackson.

This year promises to be bigger and better than ever featuring demonstrations of Heritage Arts and Crafts and Music that are both educational and entertaining. There will be Indigenous and Bluegrass Music concerts, Native American Style Dancing, Chainsaw Carving, Gristmill Grinding, Homestead Activities, West Virginia and Heritage Photography displays, Needlecraft and Quilt Shows, Antique Tractor and Engine exhibits, Civil War Encampments, Horse Drawn Carriage Rides, and over 90-Top Quality Artisans and Crafters will have their products on sale.

For the more active visitor this year’s jubilee boasts a “Hillbilly” Zip line, or you can learn how to Square Dance, Play Marbles, or enter the Corn Hole Toss contest. For the young at heart, in Kids Land you can Climb The Wall, learn how to Mine for Gemstones, get your Face Painted, listen to a professional Story Teller, or create your own Sand Art project among a host of ‘fun things’ to do.

Of course it wouldn’t be “Jubilee” without a full menu of foods prepared just the way you like it – “Homestyle”. On the grounds you will find BBQ (Beef, Chicken and Pork), Steak Sandwiches, Funnel Cakes, Homemade Ice Cream, Jams, Jellies, Apple Butter and more, or enjoy a sit-down meal in the Classic Style of the Mount Vernon Dining Hall.

Best of all you can see all, do all, and enjoy all these things for a family friendly admisstion price of just $5 a person per day. For directions, a downloadable map and a full schedule of each days events and activities visit our website at www. http://jacksonsmilljubilee.net
