House to vote on Erin’s Law

The Dominion Post
CHARLESTON, W.Va.  — The House of Delegates will vote on a freshly revised version of HB 2099, Erin’s Law, on Feb. 17.

The bill updates 2010’s Erin’s Law — named for Fairmont resident and WVU nursing student Erin Keener, who was killed in a hit-and-run in 2005 — and members approved an amendment to it Feb. 16 when it was on second read.

As newly amended, HB 2099 distinguishes between injury and serious injury.

It sets three levels of crime.
