Gov. Tomblin recently hosted the National Governors Association at The Greenbrier Resort for the NGA’s annual summer meeting and used the event to showcase West Virginia. Hosting the NGA meeting gave the Governor a chance to promote West Virginia to the NGA and the nation through the national media coverage of the NGA meeting.

Speaking to the governors gathered at The Greenbrier,  Gov. Tomblin said, “I am honored to welcome our nation’s governors to experience all that’s wild and wonderful about West Virginia. We have worked hard to put together a number of exciting events that showcase the Mountain State’s unique history and share our authentic culture.”

The Advertising Awards Luncheon recognizes the top advertising efforts by the state’s newspaper industry. The luncheon is Friday at noon at The Embassy Suites in Charleston.

The three-day WVPA conference opens Thursday evening with a reception in honor of WVPA President Matt Yeager at The Culture Center on the state Capitol Complex. U.S. Senator Joe Manchin will speak at Thursday’s reception. The convention includes education seminars, awards presentations and other events in Charleston. Convention 2015 concludes Saturday evening with an editorial awards banquet.
