Endorsement: Ohio Valley Trades and Labor Assembly endorse Kessler

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The Ohio Valley Trades and Labor Assembly, AFL-CIO and Wheeling Area Committee on Political Education (C.O.P.E) announced today that the organization is endorsing Democratic Gubernatorial Candidate Jeff Kessler for Governor.JeffKesslerLogo

Secretary Treasurer Evan Scott Cundiff says Kessler has a strong labor background and has always fought for working families and the people of this great State.

“When the immediate attacks on working families began two years ago, it was Jeff Kessler who stood in the trenches and fought for us,” says Cundiff. “We want to personally thank him through this endorsement for opposing “Right-to-Work” and fighting to keep the Prevailing Wages standards. Jeff Kessler is our friend and we pledge to not only endorse him but to support and work hard for him in the primary election.”

Kessler says his record of fighting for the people and standing up for working families speaks for itself and he’s honored to have the endorsement of such hardworking men and women.

“I’ve always fought for West Virginians and have a long record of supporting working families,” said Kessler. “I fought the legislative leadership against “Right To Work” and to keep prevailing wage. I’ve fought to help all West Virginians throughout my legislative career because that’s what being a public servant is all about. The issues facing West Virginia demand experience and bold leadership.  West Virginia is in a period of transition and crisis and I have a proven record of fixing serious problems facing our State. I’m the candidate that can fix the problems we face today. There is no time for on the job training.”

The Ohio Valley Trades and Labor Assembly is the nation’s oldest central labor organization. It is committed to improving the lives of working families in West Virginia and is committed to social justice and equality.

Kessler earlier received the endorsements from the Sheet Metal Workers Local 33, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 141, West Virginia School Service Personnel, United Food and Commercial Workers, West Virginia Bricklayers District Council and the Professional Fire Fighters of West Virginia.
