CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The co-tenancy bill is now headed to Gov. Jim Justice’s desk.

The bill allows the development of oil and natural gas resources on property with more than seven owners if at least three-fourths of the owners of the same piece of property agree.

The Senate passed the bill Saturday in a 23-11 vote, and proposed a technical amendment to the title of the bill. The House approved the amendment Monday afternoon in a 50-41 vote.
