CHARLESTON, W.Va.  — Here are some bills introduced March 13, along with two local bridge-naming resolutions.

SB 592, to have an independent redistricting commission propose redistricting plans during census years. Sen. Roman Prezioso, D-Marion, co-sponsor.

HB 2936, to require competitive bidding for all state purchases of commodities, printing and services.

HB 2941, to require the Division of Highways to use the attorney general for all legal assistance and services.

HB 2951, to require the Department of Environmental Protection to assess the health impact of any new rule. Delegate Barbara Evans Fleischauer, D-Monongalia, lead sponsor; Delegates Linda Longstreth, D-Marion, and Rodney Pyles, D-Monongalia, co-sponsors.

HB 2969, to base minimum wage hikes on increases in the consumer price index. Delegate John Williams, D-Monongalia, lead sponsor; Delegates Mike Caputo, D-Marion, Fleischauer, co-sponsors.

HB 2981, to limit the number of days for legislator pay during a special or extended session. Fleischauer, co-sponosr.

HCR 82, to rename the Pentress Bridge, carrying W.Va. 7 over Dunkard Creek in Monongalia County, as the U.S. Marine Sergeant David Paul McCord Memorial Bridge. Delegate Joe Statler, R-Monongalia, co-sponsor; Delegates Amy Summers, R-Taylor, Cindy Frich, R-Monongalia, Fleischauer, Dave Pethtel, D-Wetzel, Pyles and Williams, co-sponsors.

HCR 83, to rename the West Blacksville Bridge, carrying W.Va. 7 over Dunkard Creek in Monongalia County, the U.S. Army SPC John R. Tennant Memorial Bridge. Statler, lead sponsor; Williams, co-sponosr.
